She said, “I’ve gotta go, I need to find out

If this fight’s over, or if the fire spreads now.”

She’s scared but strong, she’s hoping he’ll see,

That she needs love, not words used like a blade to bleed.

He said, “I promise, this time I’ll be there,

No more cold shoulders, no more unfair.”

But when her back’s turned, his words slice like knives,

Cutting deep wounds she’s been trying to survive.

But he can’t chill, can’t keep it together,

She’s breaking inside, while he’s making it harder.

She thought his love could be her shield,

But he’s the storm, and she’s the battlefield.

She’s fighting cancer, he’s fighting her soul,

And all she wanted was someone to hold.

She didn’t invite him, needed peace of mind,

Didn’t want his rage when she’s already on the line.

But now he’s mad, turning cold again,

Saying, “How could you leave me out, like no wonder u don’t have any friends!?

She shares her pain, and he makes it his,

Takes her darkest moments, and flips them to fit.

He plays the victim, while she’s just trying to breathe,

But all he gives her are reasons to leave.

But he can’t chill, can’t keep it together,

She’s breaking inside, while he’s making it harder.

She thought his love could be her shield,

But he’s the storm, and she’s the battlefield.

She’s standing in the mirror, waiting for the call,

Wondering if her body will survive it all.

But he’s in the other room, raising his voice,

As if tearing her down is his only choice.

She whispers, “Why can’t you just breathe?”

But his rage builds, it’s too hard to believe.

She’s fighting two wars, one’s in her veins,

The other’s his anger, and she’s losing both games.

She said, “I thought you’d change, but you stay the same,

I’m fighting for my life, but you’re playing a game.”

His words are weapons, his love feels like chains,

And she’s left standing in the wreckage of pain.

She walks out the door, head held high,

No more waiting for love that’s a lie.

She’s got battles to fight, but this one’s done,

She’ll beat cancer alone before she’s ever outgunned.
